After working on and off as a carpenter throughout his schooling and after a 5-year stint working for the US government, Bill Golden formed his own company, Alcaid Inc., in 1986. In its first few years based in Arlington, VA,  Alcaid worked on both large and small  residential remodeling projects in Washington DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

In the 1990's, Alcaid Inc. concentrated its work in northern VA. It began working with an architectural firm, Durand & Associates of Alexandria, VA,  building major additions to,  and second floors on,  various homes in Arlington, Alexandria, and Fairfax. VA.

In the mid-1990's, Bill and his company moved further away from Washington, DC into the outer suburbs of northern VA, where  it devoted  its energies to interior home improvements, especially  kitchen & bath remodeling and basement finishing in Fairfax, Prince William, Fauquier, and Loudoun  counties of  No. VA.

In 2008, the company was renamed AGC Inc. (Alcaid General Contracting Inc.) when two of Bill's brothers-in-law  joined the company . [Over the past  20 years, Bill's brothers-in-law worked as subcontractors for some of the major homebuilders in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C., and elsewhere installing vinyl siding, replacement windows, shingles and shakes, PVC & aluminum capping of (roof-line, window, & door) wood trims, roofing, gutters, and other exterior finishes on hundreds of new homes.]

AGC Inc. is Better Business Bureau A+ accredited company. While AGC Inc. remains a full service residential remodeling company, in recent years it has concentrated its energies on its exterior siding and finishing work, and  renovating exteriors of homes that have suffered storm and hail damage throughout the mid-Atlantic region..
